Subject of the session vs. defining the problem
Both of the above are possible ways of opening a Coaching session. The difference between the Subject of the session and Problem definition, is that the Problem is described in terms of a certain discomfort, whilst the subject – is rather a general marking of an area which needs further exploration.
Both the session’s subject as well as the problem are not yet the same as a proper clarification of the session’s outcome. That is why, according to the session’s structure, a Coach should quite urgently ensure that a goal meeting appropriate Criteria emerges.
