Eye contact

Eye contact is an important element of non-verbal communication, which serves the purpose of maintaining a relationship.  When looking The client into his eyes, the Coach expresses his interest and encourages him to be open and Trustful.   The extent of eye contact, that is the percentage of time the Coach looks The client in the eye, is connected with the needs of the client and the stage of the session.

Both too intensive gazing, as well as no eye contact, can have a negative influence on the course of the session, because the Coachee unconsciously interprets the way the coach looks at him.  When determining how long to maintain eye contact, the coach bases his decisions on non verbal signals coming from the client as well as his own intuition.
